O AruPark é distribuído sob a licença MIT, uma das licenças de software livre mais permissivas e amplamente reconhecidas. Isso significa que qualquer município, a concessionária responsável pelo serviço e qualquer desenvolvedor podem usar, copiar, modificar e distribuir o software sem restrições, desde que mantida a atribuição ao projeto original.

A licença MIT cobre exclusivamente o software. Os custos de infraestrutura para operar o AruPark em produção — incluindo servidores na nuvem, API do Google Maps e gateway de pagamento — são de responsabilidade do operador do serviço e não estão cobertos por esta licença.
